Qualifications & experience
- DBYD Accredited Locator or can complete the assessment- https://dbydlocator.com/certified-locators/
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- First Aid – Workplace and CPR – Preferred but not essential
- Western Power Network Induction – Preferred but not essential
- Driver’s Licence (C) and good driving record
- White Card
- ATCO Approved Locator – Preferred but not essential
- APA Permit Issue Officer – Beneficial but not essential
- Ground Penetrating Radar Training – Preferred but not essential
- Confined Spaces and Gas Atmosphere Training – Preferred but not essential
Tasks & responsibilities
- Participate and build on the “Safety First Culture” of Abaxa through planning, preparation, proactive risk and hazard assessment and implementation of controls, communication of actions, issues and resolutions.
- Consult with clients (Engineers, Site Supervisors, Construction / Project Managers) on project requirements, work plans, programming and opportunity to manage risk and cost for the client and Abaxa.
- Plan, Prepare, Pothole, Protect and Proceed – Implement 4 P’s – Investigate, identify and provide “complete and accurate service location clearances” using ELM, GPR and other methods. – Reliable and dependable to solve problems and straight talking on results with the team and clients.
- Passion to learn from the technical team of collective experts, apply to the on-site situation to solve problems and map spatially what was constructed without visual evidence and then locate and prove it.
- Deliver strikeless jobs with final risk assessments and client handover providing exceptional client service
- Participate in HSE Toolbox, workshops and learning each month including training programs and initiatives.
