- How 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) works
- Highly qualified personnel
- A Clear Safety-First Solution
- Efficient and Cost Effective
- Why Choose Abaxa?
Inaccurate positioning records for underground utilities can create engineering and construction challenges, along with health/safety hazards, costing your business money and putting your team at risk.
Abaxa’s 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an advanced, non-invasive subsurface imaging technology with four multi-frequency antennas. It uses short pulses of energy to allow it to “see” into the ground.
In this way, GPR helps you avoid utility position inaccuracies while simultaneously improving the safety, accuracy and speed on your design projects.
How 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) works
Ground Penetrating Radar works to capture the data of subsurface materials and utilities.
It’s comprised of four multi-frequency antennae (200 and 600 MHz) which emulate the power of eight radars placed alongside each other.
Abaxa’s extended, multi-channel width capability and our custom developed software mean Abaxa can provide you with a faster, more reliable data processing and interpreting service, as well as reduced time pressure on your projects.
Abaxa’s GPR machines are configured to produce 3D imaging of the path subsurface, generating an image approximately 2+ metres wide. You’ll have far greater transparency of underground utilities when this 3D technology is applied to your site.
Strongly reduces strike risk
Accurate data collection is a crucial part of reducing strike risk. Abaxa’s 3D GPR technology provides faster, more reliable data.
GPR is one of several minimally disruptive, cost-efficient technologies we use to acquire and manage utility data.
Abaxa’s high standards mean we can minimise obscurities associated with GPR data acquisition and interpretation and maximise understanding of the data results for reporting and use within the engineering process.
Highly qualified personnel
Our 3D GPR is sophisticated technology and is only operated by highly skilled personnel. With our advanced technology and experience, our team can help give you the insight you need to make effective decisions regarding survey design, frequency selection, realistic depth penetration expectations, and data interpretation.
To perform an effective GPR investigation, it’s essential that an experienced geologist or geophysicist with a sound working knowledge of the targeted subsurface area is involved.
Abaxa only employs highly skilled and fully qualified personnel to operate our four-antennae GPRs.
A Clear Safety-First Solution
Most project sites present many limitations and barriers. At Abaxa we follow processes meticulously to ensure compliance and safety for everyone involved.
To provide the foundation for GPR success, Abaxa operates within a ‘refined managed system’. This is essential for the accurate collection of data and the clear depiction of underground utilities.
Our system demands a thorough investigation of geologic, climatic, and target-specific information, plus details about the project site before proceeding with a GPR investigation.
