Pipeline Ground Patrol Surveillance
Ground patrol is one of several layers of control to identify conditions or occurrences within the vicinity of transmission pipeline under AS 2885, which may present a threat to the integrity of the pipeline and its associated facilities. AS 2885 is a series of standards vital to the petroleum pipelines industry in Australia.
Conditions or occurrences can be caused by:
- Third-party activity (development in the vicinity of the pipeline, excavation, vehicle crossings)
- Natural events (flooding, fire, erosion, vegetation growth)
- Loss of intrinsic value (wear and tear, rust, fading markers)
Pipeline Easement Maintenance

Pipeline Maintenance
As the name suggests, pipeline protection involves protecting a pipeline from potential damage. Abaxa provides services in the protection of existing pipelines, as part of a maintenance program, or new road development where the pipeline requires inspection and additional protection from new activity.
Services include excavation and recoating of the pipeline from road reserve to road reserve or an area of interest, direct integrity assessment of the pipe, recoating the pipe for anti-corrosion control, inspection and recoating of any field joints and protecting the pipe at any crossings with concrete slabs.
